]]> Our grout cleaning process restores the appearance of the grout lines between each tile. Over time grout can become dirty with mildew which may be difficult to clean. Mold can thrive in environments such as shower stalls and washrooms that have low ventilation. Our cleaning process includes a 2 step chemical treatment that is used in conjuction with an angled bristle grout brush that will help lift mold and dirt from within the grout joints. Some chemicals used during the process are anti mold, anti fungal and periodic intensive cleaners. We advise that the caulking surrounding the shower floor surround and caulking in verticle corners be removed and re installed during this step.

Our grout rejuvenation process consists of an addictional product that can be applied to the grouts surface after the deep cleaning in completed. This process can restore the grouts color and appearance and will help prevent furture staining and mildew buildup. As an added bonus, there are several colors to choose from when applying the epoxy colorant to the grout.

These conditions raise safety concerns and may be the cause of accidental slip or trip falls. Our repair work starts by removing dirt that is usually lodged within the old cracks and holes. We then color match the effected area with a 2 part epoxy resin and install the resin slightly higher then the stones surface. Once our color match resin has solidified we begin to sand the product flush with the stone. In doing so, we are able to acheive a smooth surface and hide any defects making replacement unnecessary. This particular service can be performed on walls, counter tops, steps, ledges and floors.

]]> Most natural stones such as marble, travertine and limestone stain because they are a porous material. If a colored substance spills onto these surfaces and is left untreated for some time, the substance will most likely penetrate into the surface and become imbedded.

Other materials such as a honed or textured surface are typically more porous and are more prone to absorbing liquids. The longer the spilled substance remains on the surface, the more time it will have to penetrate and the more difficult it will be to correct. Acidic and alkaline solutions might react with the natural minerals within a stone and can cause discoloration or a stain from within the stone itself. Hard water is also known to cause staining on natural stone due to minerals such as magnesium and calcium.

The stain removal process first involves identifying what caused the stain. Stains are usually caused by organic or inorganic substances. Once the stain is identified it is crucial to clean the area of any other surrounding contaminates. Once the area is cleaned and prepped, a poultice paste is applied and covered with plastic for 24 hrs. After the 24 hr period is complete, a technician will return and revisit the stained area to remove the plastic and the poultice from the stained area.

It is important to realize that some stains could be permanant while other might require more than 1 poultice paste application. Sealing treatments for your natural stone are known to minimize the stones pourosity and are crusial in preventing future stains.
